One day trip to Rangamati from Chattogram
Rangamati is the administrative headquarters of Rangamati Hill District in the Chittagong/Chattogram Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. It is also the capital city of Chittagong Hill Tracts.The beautiful hilly district is administered by an office named as District administration, Rangamati.
From Chittagong it will take you around an hour to reach Rangamati. The town is situated on the western shore of Kaptai Lake. Rangamati is a popular tourist destination due to its scenic beauty, lake, indigenous groups (Chakma, Marma, Tripuri, Tanchangya Pangkhua, etc.), flora and fauna, indigenous museum, hanging bridge and so on.
This hilly area has many amazing places to visit and among the mentioning few where you can visit on you day trip.
Tribal Museum
The tribal museum is not that large in size and located at the entrance of the city, close to the checkpoint. You will discover many amazing things like costumes of different tribes of the hill tracts, baskets, agricultural equipment, traps, jewellery, bamboo flutes which elaborates about the custom and culture of the people of different ethnics.
There you will also find engraved leaves of palm trees dating back to 1860 by the Ecrits and Chakma which will truly amaze you. The museum will also give you a detail idea about the hilly areas. As the saying no place is better than a museum to give you an entire view and a detailed idea of a place.
Buddhist Temple
This beautiful Buddhist temple of Rangamati is on a mountain of Rangamati which almost touches the sky height. This temple is one of the most attractive tourist spot of Rangamati. The place is always crowded with believers as well as tourists. Many visits this temple with a belief that their wishes will come tru and God will fogive all their sins and mistakes.
The surrounding view is truly one amazing thing to witness and you can capture many pictures to bring them back with you as memories.
Shuvolong Waterfall
Shuvolong Waterfall is a beautiful and enigmatic waterfall found on the banks of Kaptai Lake in Bangladesh's Rangamati district. For tourists, it is a natural and fascinating fall.
It is located on the Borkol upazila of Rangamati. The pure water spring of this fountain will give you a different fresh and cold feeling. In the rainy season the water fall from 300 feet high and a charming melody is heard from that.
The lake, fountains, wide blue sky, hills and among the lifestyle of the tribal people will surely amaze you. Wherever you look, you will see the green hills and blue water of Kaptai Lake and a vast clear blue sky.
Everyday thousands of visitors or tourists visits the waterfall. The rainy season is the best time to visit as the waterfall is full and springs water in a strong flow. Don’t forget to carry extra pair of clothes as it is really difficult to control oneself from getting into the waterfall and enjoy the chilling water stream.
