Eid is one of the most important festivals celebrated by all Muslims worldwide to mark significant events in the Islamic lunar calendar.
Eid is a momentous joyous occasion which is celebrated with family and friends to share happiness with each other. All of us wait for this wonderful day as it comes only twice a year which is Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.

Decorate your home
Cleaning and decorating your house can add a sparkle to your Eid. Make arrangements with the entire family and plan on what can be done to decorate your house. You can pre-plan and order all the supplies you will be needing online. Play some music on and start decorating with lights, fringes, pompoms, streamers, banners and etc. You can also make hand-crafted decorative Eid wishes and hang them at your entrance. This new setup will bring a festive mood to your house.
Cook special food
Yummy food is a source of happiness so cook something special and delicious to eat which your family does not eat usually. Try to figure what type of meal your family would enjoy having. Eid is a special day and the food we eat during Eid should be better and different than the usual meal we eat regularly.
You can get your kids involved in here so that you can also have a cooking day with your entire family. This can be a fun activity for your kids. If you want you can even try few new dishes which can be a lovely surprise to all.
Set up a family gift exchange
This can be an interesting fun activity at home. Take a paper and write the names of your family members. Fold and shuffle the papers and each person have to pull one out. Whoever picks a person’s name has to buy or make a present for him/her. This will engage your kids with lots of excitement and will make their day fun-filled. This should be done before Eid day so that all your presents are wrapped and ready to be presented.
Get Dressed
Eid is such a day when everyone from rich to poor tries to get dressed in their best outfits. Especially children feel special to wear their Eid attire. You can order online and get new Eid outfits for your loved ones/children. You can even find out something more gorgeous than the usual from your closet and get dressed. Get everyone to prepare nice clothes as it will bring joy during this occasion. Girls can draw henna (Mehendi) designs on each other’s hands and wear their favorite Shalwar- Kameez and the boys can wear Panjabi and Paijama and perform their Eid prayer at home.
On Eid morning take shower and wear your Eid outfits to glam up for the festival. Don’t forget to get Salami from your elders. This small token of love is what gives the most joy to the kids.
