10 Best Places to Travel with Kids from Bangladesh in 2026

School break is two weeks away. The kids are already restless. And every family WhatsApp group has exploded with the same three suggestions. Cox's Bazar. Sylhet. Cox's Bazar again!

Here is the truth most family travel content quietly ignores: finding a place to go is not the hard part. Finding the best places to travel with kids that your children will genuinely enjoy, not just tolerate, is a completely different challenge. There is a real difference between a destination that is "technically fine for children" and one that was built with them in mind.

This list exists to solve that problem. Every destination here passed one strict test before making the cut: would a child independently enjoy this, or would they only be there because the parents wanted to go? If the answer was the second one, it did not make the list.

The 10 places below are split into five categories. Jump to whichever section fits your family best, whether that is a full theme park day, a wildlife adventure, a beach holiday, or something genuinely unlike anything your children have experienced before.

Top 10 Best Places to Visit in Bangladesh for Kid

We’ve made this list not only based on the best places to visit in Bangladesh. Instead we’ve done research to find the places that are perfect for your kids to roam around. Let’s get started with the first one.

1. Fantasy Kingdom, Ashulia (Savar, Dhaka)

Fantasy Kingdom is Bangladesh's first full-scale theme park and it is still one of the best theme parks. If your children have not been, this can be the year to change that. It was opened on 19 February 2002 under Concord Entertainment Co. Ltd, and over two decades later it remains the most comprehensive amusement park experience in the country. The park covers nearly 20 acres and combines a dry rides section, an attached water park called Water Kingdom, and an Xtreme Racing Go-Kart track, all on one site. Children do not run out of things to do here. From the moment the car rolls into the Ashulia car park and children spot the Ferris wheel above the treeline, the energy in the vehicle changes immediately. It is one of those rare places that genuinely delivers on what it promises. Plan for a full day, bring swimwear, and accept that you will hear "just one more ride" at least a dozen times before you leave.

Key Information

• Location: Jamgora, Dhaka to Ashulia Highway, Savar, Dhaka
• Park Size: Approximately 20 acres
• Number of Rides: 24 dry rides including roller coaster, bumper cars, Ferris wheel, Dinosaur Park, Santa Maria Viking Ship, Giant Plume Ride, Vortex Tunnel, and Sky Hopper
• Water Park: Yes, Water Kingdom (water slides, wave section, and bumper boats)
• Movie Zone: Yes, 9D Cinema on-site
• Go-Kart Track: Yes, Xtreme Racing Go-Kart Track (ages 8 and above)
• Age Fit: 3 and above. Toddler-friendly rides available. Roller coaster and go-kart for ages 8 and above.

What Parents Should Know

A private car hire is the most practical option for families with young children. Travel time from central Dhaka is between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Multiple ticket packages are available including all-rides passes. Food inside the park can be inconsistent, so carry snacks for younger children. Visit on a Tuesday or Wednesday for the shortest queues. Avoid Eid holiday windows entirely if you prefer a manageable crowd.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round. October to March for the most comfortable outdoor experience. Water Kingdom is most popular from March to August. If you have a bigger plan, you can book a Dhaka hotel near Ashulia and turn Fantasy Kingdom into a full overnight family trip through ShareTrip.

2. Dream Holiday Park, Narsingdi

Just 50 to 55 kilometres from Dhaka along the Dhaka to Sylhet Expressway sits a 60-acre amusement park that Bangladeshi families have taken to calling the "Disneyland of Bangladesh." That comparison is bold but not entirely unfounded. Dream Holiday Park is the largest amusement attraction outside the capital, and the variety of rides and activities covers every age group in a way that most single-site parks simply cannot manage. The combination of thrill rides, gentle family attractions, a water section, open fields for kite flying, and the natural greenery surrounding the complex makes it feel genuinely different from a typical urban amusement park. Children who have been to other parks and then come here tend to be pleasantly surprised. The 9D cinema and the river cave ride are the specific highlights that older children talk about afterwards. The open space is what parents appreciate most after a packed week in Dhaka.

Key Information

• Location: Narsingdi District, Dhaka to Sylhet Expressway (approximately 50 to 55 km from Dhaka)
• Park Size: 60 acres
• Ride Types: Roller coasters, cable cars, toy trains, bullet trains, bull rides, bumper cars, family carousels, and paddle boats
• Water Park: Yes, a dedicated water section with slides and pools
• Movie Zone: Yes, 9D movie theatre on-site
• Special Attraction: River cave ride (particularly popular with children aged 6 to 14)
• Outdoor Space: Open kite-flying fields and large green areas throughout the complex
• Age Fit: All ages. Toy train and carousel for toddlers. Roller coaster and cable car for ages 6 and above.

What Parents Should Know

Bus services run from Dhaka to Narsingdi regularly. A private car is more comfortable for families with young children. Start with the cable car early in the morning before queues build up. Very young children will enjoy the toy train, carousels, and paddle boats most. The 9D cinema is best for children aged 6 to 12.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round. The water section is most enjoyable from March to August. October to February offers the most comfortable outdoor xperience.

3. Toggi Fun World, Dhaka (Bashundhara City)

Some days you need a great family outing without spending an hour in Dhaka traffic first. Toggi Fun World at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall solves that problem neatly. Spanning approximately 130,000 square feet across the upper floors of Bashundhara City, it is one of the largest indoor family entertainment centres in Bangladesh. Because it is fully indoors, weather becomes irrelevant, which is a genuine advantage during the unpredictable monsoon season or the intense summer heat. It is particularly well-suited to families with younger children who do better in a contained, well-managed environment than in the open and sometimes overwhelming atmosphere of larger outdoor parks. The staff are attentive, the space is clean, and the range of attractions keeps children engaged for a solid 3 to 4 hours without any need to plan around sunscreen or hydration stops.

Key Information

• Location: Floors 8 to 18, Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, Tejturi Bazar West, Dhaka
• Park Size: Approximately 130,000 square feet (fully indoor)
• Ride Types: Virtual reality (VR) rides, trampolines, arcade games, and themed play areas
• Indoor / Outdoor: Fully indoor and climate-controlled (weather-proof year-round)
• Movie Zone: VR experiences available (recommended for ages 8 and above)
• Special Feature: One of the largest indoor family entertainment venues in Bangladesh
• Age Fit: 4 to 14 primarily. VR for ages 8 and above. Themed play areas and trampolines for younger children.

What Parents Should Know

Accessible from most central Dhaka hotels by CNG or rideshare in 15 to 30 minutes. Visit on a weekday morning for the calmest and most enjoyable experience. Very young children will enjoy the themed play areas and supervised trampolines most. For older children, the VR rides are the standout attraction.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round. Particularly valuable during the monsoon season (June to September) and summer heat (March to May) when outdoor options are less comfortable.

5. Foy's Lake Concord Amusement World, Chittagong

Families travelling to Chittagong have one unmissable stop, and it is Foy's Lake Concord Amusement World. What makes this place exceptional among Bangladeshi amusement parks is not just the rides but the setting. The 320-acre complex wraps around Foy's Lake, a picturesque reservoir originally created in 1924 as part of a railway water supply project, and the combination of a hillside lake landscape with a full theme park and water park makes for a day that feels genuinely different from any other park in the country. Children who have been to Fantasy Kingdom and arrive here expecting more of the same tend to be pleasantly surprised. The lake boat rides in the late afternoon, with the surrounding hills reflecting in the water, are a highlight that older children and parents often remember as the best part of the entire day.

Key Information

• Location: Pahartoli, Chittagong (approximately 30 minutes from Chittagong city centre by auto-rickshaw or taxi)
• Complex Size: 320 acres
• Dry Park Rides: Ferris wheel, family roller coaster, bumper cars, Pirate Ship, Coffee Cup, Baby Dragon, Baby Carousel, and Circus Train

• On-site Accommodation: Foy's Lake Resort (for families wanting an overnight stay)
• Age Fit: All ages. Baby rides for toddlers. Roller coaster and water slides for ages 6 and above.

What Parents Should Know

You can fly from Dhaka to Chittagong in approximately one hour. From Chittagong city, the park is 30 minutes by auto-rickshaw or taxi. Plan the lake boat section for the afternoon when the light on the water is at its most beautiful. A full visit needs 4 to 6 hours. The Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View is the most consistently reviewed family hotel in the city.

Best Time to Visit

October to March for pleasant outdoor temperatures across both the dry park and the lake sections.

6. Mana Bay Water Park, Munshiganj

If there is one water park in Bangladesh that parents consistently describe as "finally up to international standard," it is Mana Bay. Located in Munshiganj, approximately 55 to 70 kilometres from central Dhaka, this is Bangladesh's first premium water park and one of the most ambitious leisure facilities the country has built in recent years. The park is designed around a Polynesian theme and delivers on both the visual experience and the quality of its attractions. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the cleanliness, safety standards, and resort atmosphere as what sets Mana Bay apart from everything else in this category. The dedicated kids' zone handles toddlers and young children in a separate, shallower space from the main rides, which means parents are not constantly anxious about smaller children wandering near high-speed water slides. That level of design consideration makes a meaningful difference to the actual experience on the day.

Key Information

• Location: Baushia, Gazaria, Munshiganj (approximately 55 to 70 km from central Dhaka via Dhaka to Chittagong Highway)
• Number of Rides: 17 rides and attractions
• Signature Rides: FlowRider Double surfing simulator (unique in Bangladesh), Vertigo Vortex high-speed slide, and dynamic wave pool
• Lazy River: Yes, suitable for all ages including parents with young children

• Facilities: Locker rentals, changing rooms, and on-site food available
• Ticket Price: Premium tier (confirm current rates before visiting)
• Age Fit: All ages. Kids' zone for ages 2 to 6. Wave pool and major slides for ages 6 and above.

What Parents Should Know

Travel time from Dhaka is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Arrive by 9:30 AM to make the most of the day before peak crowds build up. Bring your own towels and a full change of dry clothes for every child. Locker rentals are available on-site but bring your own padlock for convenience.

Best Time to Visit

March to August for peak water park weather. October to February for shorter queues and a quieter atmosphere.

7. Gazipur Safari Park

This is the most underrated family destination near Dhaka, and if you have not taken your children here yet, 2026 is the year to change that. Inaugurated in 2013, the park spreads across 3,810 acres of Shal Forest in Gazipur, making it one of the largest safari parks in Asia. The core experience is a guided bus safari through zones where Royal Bengal Tigers, white lions, bears, zebras, and deer live in semi-natural enclosures. The safari bus moves slowly through the forest as animals appear at various distances around the vehicle. On a good morning in the tiger zone, the encounter produces the kind of spontaneous, unscripted reaction from children that no manufactured theme park experience can replicate. Beyond the safari, the complex has enough variety to fill a full day without the core attraction needing to carry all the weight.

Key Information

• Location: Bagerbazar, Sreepur, Gazipur District (approximately 52 km from central Dhaka)
• Reserve Area: 3,810 acres of Shal Forest
• Safari Duration: Approximately 40 minutes per guided bus ride
• Key Animals: Royal Bengal Tigers, white lions, zebras, bears, nilgai, antelopes, spotted deer, crocodiles, and various bird species
• Additional Attractions: Butterfly garden with mini museum, egg museum, bird enclosure (Macaws and parrots), aquarium, and hanging bridge
• Closed On: Tuesdays
• Age Fit: All ages. Safari bus is fully accessible. Butterfly garden and egg museum are particularly engaging for ages 5 to 12.

What Parents Should Know

A private car hire for the day is the most practical option for families with young children. Buses from Dhaka to Bagher Bazar also run, with a short taxi ride from the roadside to the park gate. Go early. Animals are most active before 11 AM. Arrive by 9 AM to explore the butterfly garden and outer sections before the core safari begins. Bring water and sun protection for the walking sections between attractions.

Best Time to Visit

November to February. Animals are most visible in cooler weather and outdoor walking sections are far more comfortable.

8. Bangladesh National Zoo, Mirpur (Dhaka)

The Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur is the country's most visited single attraction, welcoming approximately 3 million visitors every year. That level of popularity is not accidental. The zoo covers 186.63 acres including two lakes, a botanical garden, and enclosures for Bengal tigers, African lions, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles, and dozens of bird and reptile species. For families with young children visiting for the first time, the scale feels genuinely impressive in a way that photographs simply do not prepare you for. The elephant ride is the most consistently requested activity among young visitors and remains one of the few zoo experiences in Bangladesh where children can have a real, close encounter with a large animal. The botanical garden and lake sections give the zoo a green, open feel that is noticeably more pleasant than most urban zoos in the region.

Key Information

• Location: Zoo Road, Mirpur, Dhaka 1216
• Zoo Area: 186.63 acres including two lakes and a botanical garden
• Key Animals: Bengal tigers, African lions, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles, and diverse bird and reptile species
• Special Activity: Elephant rides available (ages 3 and above with a parent or guardian)
• Annual Visitors: Approximately 3 million
• Entry Point Tip: Left side after the main entrance leads to elephants and large carnivores (prioritise this with young children who tire easily)
• Age Fit: All ages. Elephant rides for ages 3 and above with a parent.

What Parents Should Know

Travel time from central Dhaka is approximately 30 to 45 minutes by bus, CNG, or rideshare. Visit on a weekday morning to avoid the weekend crowd. Bring plenty of water, especially from March to October. Start on the left side after entering to cover the elephants and large cats while children still have full energy.

Best Time to Visit

October to February for comfortable walking temperatures. Weekday mornings year-round for the shortest queues.

9. Hatirjheel Lake, Dhaka

Not every family outing needs a travel plan, a packed bag, or a full day out of the city. Hatirjheel Lake in central Dhaka proves that some of the simplest and most genuine family memories can be made without any logistical complexity at all. The lake is best known among Dhaka families for its swan-shaped and car-shaped pedal boats, which children between approximately 2 and 9 years old find completely absorbing from the moment they step in. The waterfront walkway comes alive from about 5 PM onwards with families, food carts, ice cream vendors, and duck feeding stations that younger children in particular respond to with considerable enthusiasm. The mango ice cream cart near Gate 3 appears repeatedly in family reviews as a specific children's highlight, which tells you something about how closely Bangladeshi parents pay attention to the small details that make an outing genuinely enjoyable.

Key Information

• Location: Hatirjheel, between Rampura and Badda, central Dhaka
• Primary Activity: Swan-shaped and car-shaped pedal boats (life jackets available at the hire point)
• Duck Feeding: Yes, feed sold by gate vendors
• Food and Drink: Food carts, ice cream vendors (including the mango ice cream cart near Gate 3)
• Walkway: Stroller-friendly path around the lake perimeter
• Baby Facilities: Baby changing table and cleanest bathrooms at the southwest corner of the lake
• Getting There: 15 to 30 minutes from most central Dhaka hotels by CNG or rideshare
• Best Time of Day: 5 PM onwards for the best atmosphere and evening light on the water
• Age Fit: All ages. Particularly ideal for toddlers and children under 8.

What Parents Should Know

Arrive around 5 PM when the golden-hour light on the water is at its most beautiful and the family atmosphere along the walkway is fully alive. The southwest corner has the best bathroom facilities including a baby changing table. Accessible and inexpensive, Hatirjheel works well as an evening wind-down activity on any Dhaka day.

Best Time to Visit

October to March for pleasant evening temperatures. Worth visiting year-round at 5 PM.

10. Nuhash Polli, Gazipur

Nuhash Polli is the most unexpected entry on this list. It is not a theme park or a wildlife reserve. It is a sprawling nature retreat in Gazipur built by Humayun Ahmed, Bangladesh's most celebrated writer, novelist, and filmmaker, and it feels less like a tourist attraction and more like the setting of one of his stories. The property is filled with sculptures placed among trees, exotic plant species, peacocks, ponds with turtles, bamboo groves, and hidden garden corners that children explore with a level of purposeful curiosity that is genuinely refreshing to observe. There are no timetables or planned activities. The experience is the freedom to wander, find something new around every bend, and spend time in a green, peaceful environment that feels entirely unlike anything in Dhaka. It makes an excellent half-day or full-day outing, particularly when combined with a morning at Gazipur Safari Park in the same Gazipur district for a full family day out of the city.

Key Information

• Location: Pirijpur, Hotapara, Gazipur District (approximately 40 km from central Dhaka)
• Built By: Humayun Ahmed, Bangladesh's most celebrated writer, novelist, and filmmaker
• Key Features: Sculptures among trees, exotic plants, peacocks, ponds with turtles, bamboo groves, and hidden garden paths
• Entry Fee: Yes, admission fee applies (confirm current rates before visiting)
• Getting There: Private car from Dhaka recommended (1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic)
• Combine With: Gazipur Safari Park, Gazipur (same district, ideal for a combined full-day trip)
• On-site Food: Limited. Bring water and snacks for younger children.
• Age Fit: All ages. Best for curious children aged 5 to 14.

What Parents Should Know

Check current opening hours before visiting as these can vary by season. A private car is strongly recommended over public transport for families with young children. Combine with the Gazipur Safari Park in the same Gazipur district to build a complete family day without extending the journey further from Dhaka.

Best Time to Visit

October to February for the most pleasant outdoor temperatures and comfortable exploration conditions.

A Few Things That Will Make Your Trip With Your Kids Much Smoother

For almost every destination on this list, November to February is the ideal travel window. The weather is dry, temperatures are comfortable, and outdoor activities are at their most enjoyable.

A few useful exceptions worth knowing:

Key school holiday windows to plan around:

• Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha: The busiest travel periods across Bangladesh. Book accommodation 6 to 8 weeks ahead for Cox's Bazar, Sajek, and Saint Martin's Island.
• Winter break (December to January): Best weather window but also highest demand. Book as early as possible.
• Summer break (June to July): Monsoon season but excellent for Ratargul and indoor attractions like Toggi Fun World.

Frequently Asked Questions

Several destinations work comfortably as day trips from Dhaka without needing overnight accommodation. Fantasy Kingdom (Ashulia), Dream Holiday Park (Narsingdi), Gazipur Safari Park (Gazipur), Mana Bay Water Park (Munshiganj), Hatirjheel Lake, Toggi Fun World, and Nuhash Polli (Gazipur) are all within 40 to 70 kilometres of the city and reachable by private car within 1.5 hours. You can check out this blog on a one day trip nearby Dhaka to know more.

Which destination on this list is best for a first family trip with a toddler under three?

For toddlers under three, Toggi Fun World and Gazipur Safari Park (Gazipur) are the most suitable first destinations. Both require no heavy travel and are fully manageable in 2 to 3 hours. They offer gentle activities calibrated specifically for very young children. Bangladesh National Zoo is the best option if you want a slightly longer outing that still keeps the journey simple.

Which two destinations combine well into a single family trip itinerary?

Several pairs work naturally together. From the list we’ve mentioned, Gazipur Safari Park and Nuhash Polli are both in Gazipur and cover a full day from Dhaka.

Is travel insurance necessary for domestic family trips in Bangladesh?

Travel insurance is not legally required for domestic trips within Bangladesh, but it is strongly recommended for destinations involving boats, outdoor wildlife, or remote access, particularly the Sundarbans, Saint Martin's Island, Nijhum Dwip, and Sajek Valley. A basic policy covering medical emergencies and trip cancellations provides meaningful protection for families travelling with young children to these locations.

One Last Thought

Bangladesh has more to offer families with children than most parents fully realise. From a safari park that holds its own with the best in Asia to a coral island your children can snorkel around, a flooded forest you navigate entirely by boat, and a water park with a surfing simulator that draws regional comparisons, the options are genuinely impressive once you know where to look. Peak season, particularly November to February, books up quickly across most of these destinations.

So, which destination is your family adding to the calendar first?
